  1. The rules state that numbers should be legible and I recently saw an IOM with a number which had a zero with a slash through it which made it (to me at least) appear for all the world like an 8. I haven't seen this style of 0 before and wondered if it was class legal.
  2. A Robbe Windstar is IOM legal.
  3. Would you still need shrouds on a 6m rig like this?
  4. Malin wire is available on Amazon
  5. Better start saving up for some vane gear!

MX14 (1).pdf Is this any use?
  7. As the title suggests, I'm looking for opinions regarding the performance of a 36r using IOM rigs compared to a typical club level (ie: not a britpop!) IOM using the same rigs. Gary
  8. You could always wind them yourself from a guitar string.
  9. Sails etc. use the Sky Shark 7pt tubes in their rg65 rigs and also list tapered carbon tubes which are probably the same items. Worth an enquiry...
  10. Which flysky receiver are you using? The Fsia6 that I use won't tolerate more than 6.6V.
  11. As in the title, I'm sure I've read somewhere that you can measure a 6 as an A class. Is this possible and is there any advantage to be had? Do you lose or gain sail area, etc.? Gary
  12. Brad Gibson suggests sliding a length of stainless steel capilliary tubing from a syringe over the wire and bending it into a sharp hook shape.... apparently, it doesn't let go and very easy to replace... virtually zero drag.
  13. Can anyone identify the vane gear I got for my 36r?
  14. Can anyone identify the vane gear I got for my 36r?
  15. Not for your sail numbers though...

Look in the Free Plans section of Frank's website.
  17. No such thing as too much Swiss Roll..
  18. Probably a daft question but is it permissable to follow your vane boat with a small bicycle? My old legs might not last a day of bank walking......
  19. Thanks for that info, I was thinking of using the roll wrapped tubes from Easy Composites. So you still need shrouds ona carbon rig then? That is what I was hoping to avoid...
  20. I emailed the class registrar and he informed me that carbon masts are indeed legal for the 36 class boats. Thanks all. Gary
