MYA Midland District race officer training day.

Colin Walton from the Manor Park RSC has been putting together details for a Club or Open event race officer training day. This will be hosted at Manor Park RSC on 28^th January 2023 with a start time of 10:00am.

This event is aimed at the new club or open event level race officer so that you can get an understanding of what is required to run an event, and for those who already run races at their club and would like to know a little more.

The guest presenter will be Peter Moore of Bournville RS&MBC, who will start with an indoor presentation, and answer any questions that may arise. Then following lunch, weather and conditions permitting there will be a series of practice races so that you can have a go at being a PRO, with help and guidance if required. The emphasis being on fair and enjoyable sailing within the rules.

This event is being done to fit in with the new Manor Park RSC and Blithfield SC DF95 monthly race series, and if you have a DF95 and can bring it along why not join in with a friendly race. If you don’t have a DF95 but would like to come along there may be a chance that you could borrow one to have a go.

There has been already been a few sailors confirm their intention to attend so don’t delay in booking your place.

Colin has arranged for Tea & Coffee to be available during the day, and a lunch of soup and bread will be served. The price for the training and lunch will be £5:00, payable on the day.
