MYA Acquaint Magazine- An Important Announcement

Charles Smith – Retirement

After many years Charles Smith has decided to retire as Editor of the Acquaint Magazine. Charles has been a fantastic Editor for our sport’s magazine and has developed it to the very high standard publication that we see today. He has been a huge asset to the MYA Council and a superb communicator of all things radio and free sailing. He has some brilliant contacts and somehow persuades them to give freely of their time to write such informative articles for all of our members at all levels of the sport. He also of course does much writing and preparation himself working with Council colleagues and others. Working closely with Damian Ackroyd who arranges the setting and printing of the magazine this is all done on a voluntary basis to keep our members so well informed.

For those who attend the AGM Charles is always seen with his camera at the ready with the immortal words to the subject being photographed – “One for the tabloids!”

Our thanks go to Charles for all he has done and of course we wish him well for the future.

Keith Coxon,
