Solution… we write our numbers down, stored on a sheet in race box for ease of access and sheet goes missing … lost! Or… we don’t do that Steve we store it on line, and then if we need it we draw it down from online server, ok but how many people have access to that data and are they always there One idea We hold our own data,at club and regional events, our responsibility but no data no sail. Stored on a small card, waterproofed in plastic wallet, stuck words facing the underside of radio. So in an emergency, turn them over and turn their radio over! At open meetings, show up with your £10 plus radio to show organisers your card on bottom of transmitter. Ah ha.. a contentious topic bit like the E car debate ….. But will battle on. At HRYC, as bosun, we have 2 E motors that anyone can use and jump into the recovery inflatable with external battery, and a small Honda petrol with kill cord and the lake we are based on, requires RYA Powerboat 2 for this engine. Question We would love to hear your views on which E engine your club uses, or has used and works well so when we come to replace we have some valid opinions from other clubs. Clearly the replacement must be… 1 affordable 2 practical for a large open lake (but when windy petrol used) 3 that other clubs are using and is recommended your views and replies very welcome…. ALL ages in our club can run a finish, which is what you want, the older ones are better as they play more Bingo. DAB the number as. You hear it called out. We would never go back to excel spreadsheet!

Thank goodness for A fleet, face with paper today, and it was such a shock to go to a paper system The use of A fleet has utterly transformed the weekly task of scores, tables and points. If you have not tried it then get somewhere that uses it, teaching others to use it as race officer is easy, and it is not harder than when a number is shouted out, dibbing it on the tablet as in bingo. If someone gets something wrong , it can easily be sorted. For the cost of a waterproof shockproof tablet!
