DF95 National at Two Islands RYC, results & pictures

I managed to get down to Two Islands RYC on Sunday for the final day of this year’s DF95 National Championship, on arrival things were getting prepared for the days racing and I took a few minutes to catch up with some friends and take a look at the overnight scoreboard. Darin & Tracey Ballington were the race officer and observer marshall respectively and the host club provided the other members of the race team.

The conditions were a good top suit blow, with occassional gusts making the runs and tacking a little difficult at times. With a large entry the startline was busy and the first couple of starts today were general recalled as the majority of the fleet were over the line, once things had settled down they got the days racing underway. The course was fairly large and it gave the skippers the opportunity to gain places by reading the wind patterns correctly, I understand that there had been an issue with floating weed on the Saturday, and the host club had two members in the water removing the green stuff from fins and rudders, thanks to them for paddling and doing rescue and relaunch duties for both days.
