Rob McIntosh Appointed as MYA IOM Class Captain

The Model Yachting Association (MYA) is pleased to announce that Rob McIntosh has been appointed as the new IOM Class Captain.
While Rob may be a new name to some within the community, he brings with him a long-standing connection to the International One Metre (IOM) class. Rob began sailing IOMs at a young age with Birkenhead Radio Sailing & Power Club. Following a period away from the sport, he returned two years ago and has since re-established himself as an active and enthusiastic competitor.
In his new role, Rob will be engaging with the IOM fleet to support and develop the class. He is particularly keen to gather feedback on venues for major events and is committed to encouraging increased participation across the fleet, helping sailors of all levels to get involved and back on the water.
Rob will determine his preferred methods of communication with class members in due course. In the meantime, anyone wishing to contact him is encouraged to do so via the MYA contact list available on the MYA website.
MYA Vice Chair Darin expressed his appreciation, stating:
“We are delighted that Rob has stepped forward to take on this important role. We look forward to working with him and seeing the continued growth and success of the IOM class.”
