ND IOM Winter 4 Scarborough Report

We’ve had a brief report from the guys at Scarborough about the recently held IOM winter series round 4.

A small number of skippers gathered at a very calm and mirror like Wykeham Lake to consider the tactical options of racing for the day ahead. Sadly the race management team had no control over the entry numbers or indeed the weather and the forecast SW wind failed to materialise and the Race Officer postponed racing for about an hour to allow some breeze to build. Eventually, a zephyr did allow a single lap shortened windward/leeward course to be set and four slow motion races were completed by the lunch break when the wind also decided to take a break. The wind forecasted for the start of the day finally arrived and a slight course change allowed 2 lap racing with a further nine races completed by the close of racing at 15:30.

John Tushingham carried on where he left off at Askern, recording 7 bullets on the day securing first place with 13 pts with Roger Crates in second on 21 pts and Neil Thornton third on 28 pts.

Full results below along with an overall standings table.
