DF95 Open at Blithfield SC, Final results.

28 DF95 skippers gathered together at Blithfield SC for their first open race. The initial conditions were a strong westerly with a good swell on to the control shore. All the skipperrs gathered in the club house and rigged their boats with “C” rigs, it was easy to rig indoors. The skipper briefing was started by Alan Skitt who welcomed everyone to the club, thanking all those from the club and MD who came to run the race.

Darin B the PRO was supported by Alastair R who did the safety breifing, saying that he would be the boat man for any rescue or course moving required. Darin then told everyone who the race team was and reminded the skippers to watch the “Heat Board”. This was being handled by Tracey and Penelope who would be down in the control area.

I was luck in so much as I was able to operate in the club house and look out the large windows to see the racing. I even had access to the club wifi.

Several of the skippers changed to their “B” rigs after race 2, as the wind had dropped down a little and the waves were far lees of a problem.
