MYA Radio League 2022 Season – UPDATE as of 29th September 2022

Whilst 30th September this year may well be more memorable to some because it is ‘meter reading day’, let us not lose sight that it means there is just one month left of this year’s MYA Radio League Season. The latest sets of results incorporated and the updated scores and positions have been uploaded to the MYA web site. There are still more than a dozen scheduled events to be held, so plenty of points on offer both for individuals and clubs!

Just a reminder that these are viewable on the MYA web site via the ‘News’ and then ‘MYA Radio League -ACERSAIL’ pages. This obviously also includes the 6 skippers who have taken part in MYA events this year but who have NOT as of today joined the MYA. The clubs for whom those skippers might think they are gaining points are of course missing out on potential points being allocated to them.

Thank you to all those clubs that keep sending results to me, or notifying me about cancellation or re-scheduling of events; it saves a lot of sometimes difficult and occasionally fruitless searching time.

Some members may have switched clubs in the last year so to make sure that your points and those of your club are as accurate as possible, please visit the various tables to ensure that your points are being correctly allocated. If not please let me know via the ‘Contact Radio League Secretary’ link on the web pages. Whilst I try to pick up changes from the MYA membership list, but cannot track them all, especially when expired or incorrect membership numbers are quoted on race entries. It’s no bad time to refresh your memories regarding your correct membership numbers.

Meanwhile, in the hope that we can keep sailing more frequently, if your club is hosting a qualifying Open event, please make sure that a notice of race is posted to maximise attendance and a copy of the final results is sent to me.

One final plea!! As we near the end of the season, will those clubs hosting events during October please e-mail me copies of the final results as soon as possible after the event, especially no later than 7th November in order that final league results are known in plenty of time for the MYA AGM.
