2026 MYA Scottish District IOM Travellers 2 – hosted by Paisley Model Yacht Club, Saturday 30th May 2026

Thirteen IOM skippers from across Scotland and south of the border assembled at Barshaw Park, Paisley for the second round of the 2026 MYA Scottish District’s IOM Travellers series. Eleven different designs were represented in several different materials including three ‘woodies’ and three 3D printed yachts.

Throughout the day there were good racing conditions with interesting shifts either side of the predominant direction. The course was a beat from the north-east corner of the pond to the south-west corner followed by a run back concluding with a beat to a finish line in the south-west corner. Based on the length of the available start line it was decided to sail the event in two heats.

The winner was Tich Summers, second was Simon Thomson and third was Ian Dundas. Tich Summers thanked Paisley MYC for hosting the event and the Race Team of Robert Rooney, David Smith, David Bell, Jim Boyle, John McVicar and William Scott for the smooth and effective running of the event, and his fellow skippers for their sportsmanship throughout the day.
