Vintage Model Yachting Event as part of celebrating 150 years of Model Yacht Racing on the Round Pond

The Organising Authority is the London Model Yacht Club (the Club) who will host an open meeting on 6th June 2026 at the Round Pond in Kensington Palace Gardens.

The Clubhouse will be accessible from 0845 through black double gates just to the East of the Russian Embassy on the Bayswater Road (postcode W2 4HR).

The nearest underground station is Queensway on the Central Line. There is limited free parking in the vicinity of the clubhouse and further public parking locally.

We will aim to move to the Pond at around 10:00 a.m. We will aim to finish sailing before 15:00 pm when a reception will be held in the Sports and Social Club adjacent to London Model Yacht Club Clubhouse. Hot and Cold beverages will be available until 6:00 pm

PROGRAMME

During the day, sailors will have the opportunity to sail some of the vintage yachts which are owned by the club and its members. Guests are also welcome to bring along and controlled model sailing yachts to take part in a fun event. Subject to interest, we are happy to organise some informal races for those who wish to get involved.
