2025 MD6MCS R5 Two Islands RYC results.

Five Skippers took to the almost still waters of Furzton Lake in Milton Keynes for the final round of the 2025 Midland District 6 Metre Champion Skipper series yesterday, October 4th.
Despite predictions there was enough wind around to get the yachts moving for some quite close racing although it was necessary to use several courses to get the best of the basically North West breeze; fortunately the lake is equipped with a suitable array of marks allowing course changes to be made quickly. Although the ultimate winner was a lightweight, full-keeled, yacht design originating in the early part of last century each race was not a runaway victory with each of the other yachts leading the way at times. By lunchtime the wind had reduced to a level making yacht retrieval difficult, so it was decided to bring the event to a halt after eight races. Sadly, one yacht had to be withdrawn early in the meeting with a broken winch line which disappeared inside the hull making lakeside restringing extremely inconvenient.
