What’s happening in June 2024

A bumper crop of events coming up to whet your appetite.
11 district/open events
3 National championships
And the latest TT rounds for the RG65 and DF65 and 95.
Even though the weed growth is beginning, that is not stopping a busy calendar.
Probably the most heavily fought over event will be the Marblehead Nationals at Datchet whose entry list of 34, reads like the who’s who of radio sailing with many past world and national champions. Pleased to say, as of last weekend the reservoir is well topped up. Preparations at Datchet are going well. (The Drone flying permit has been received!). If you are an entrant and would like to join Datchet as a guest for practice at normal their Marblehead Club Racing this Sunday May 26th, please let them know. You can email them at datchetradiosailing at icloud dot com.
Closely following on this events heels, is the 10 Rater Nationals at the same venue. The grace and beauty of these spectacular designs racing in earnest is a sight to behold.
Both events above will be well worth a visit. Come and join us at Datchet for a great spectacle.
In the middle of the month, we have the 6M Nationals in Dartmoor. These classic boats with wonderful design names such as Romanza, Renaissance, Ravenna, Seabird, Rococo will grace Shaugh lake near Plymouth. Expect as fierce a competition as for the Marblehead’s.
The A class have a Northern district championship at Fleetwood and the RG65 TT is at Keighley, the DFTT at Eastbourne. Other open/District events are listed on the Calendar.
It is well worth a check of the MYA Racing Calendar to make sure you have not missed any of these wonderful events. Whatever your sailing skill level, why not sign up to an event on the Calendar.
