Whats Happening in April?

The season is in full swing with 19 events in the month. The following classes are holding their TT or Ranking events. The DF65 Nationals are at Gosport and the Marblehead, IOM and 10r Ranking events at Fleetwood, Eastbourne and London Model Yacht Club respectively. The IOM ranking points are for qualification for the Worlds in Australia later this year and with the Marblehead worlds rumoured to be in France next year, this ranking event will be hotly contested.

One of the highlights worth watching or sailing in is the De Quincey cup which features team racing in DF95’s on the London Round Pond. It should be great fun and I know there are some competitive teams entered. Us ex team racers from our youth will remember those days with fondness and I guess will wonder how much we have forgotten.

There are open events for Marblehead, IOM, 6M, RG65 and DF95 and finally the Footy Nationals take place at Frensham Pond.

3 events are postponed at Huntingdon and Two Islands so please check the MYA Racing Calendar to make sure your chosen events take place.

Whatever you sail have fun and let’s hope for sunshine and wind.
