Helpful notes for Race Officers

As we enter the 2023 Scottish District racing season, some helpful notes have been compiled for new, developing and experienced Race Officers.

Much of the organisation of a SD event is the same as a club event. These notes are intended as a resource collating hints, tips and guidance with supporting appendices and links to commonly needed documents and other resources. They are intended to help a first-time Race Officer (RO) and as a reminder for experienced RO’s. The notes are supplemented by a checklist which needs to be adapted to suit the specific event and venue. (E.g. Club racing at an established venue is different to a Championship to be held at Castle Semple.) Thus, the checklist is NOT prescriptive. Click here for the notes and checklist.
