2024 MYA AGM, Trade Show and Boat Jumble

Dear Members,

Encouraged by the success of the 2023 AGM, Trade Show and Boat Jumble, the MYA council has booked the Addison Centre in Kempston, Bedford as the venue for the 2024 AGM and Trade Show.

This venue is centrally located, being a few minutes off Junction 13 of the M1 and continues the policy of alternating venues to make the AGM as accessible to the largest number of members as possible.

Annual General Meeting – Formal Notice

The Annual General Meeting of the Model Yachting Association will take place on Saturday 30^th November 2024 at The Addison Centre, Addison Howard Park, Kempston, Bedford, MK42 8PN, commencing at 13.00.

This will be the first year that Members will be able to cast their votes individually, instead of through their Club Representative.

However, if you have a motion you would like to bring to the AGM or a name to put forward for election to the Council, please discuss with your Club Representative, as these will have to be submitted by them before Sunday 1^st September 2024. Electronic forms will be sent separately to your Club Representative.

MYA Subscriptions – 2025

In line with the Constitution, we are announcing that the MYA Subscription for 2025 will remain at £10, with juniors under the age of 18 (on 1^st January 2025) free.

Trade Show and Boat Jumble.

Many of the sports’ suppliers will be at the trade show and this will be the perfect opportunity to pick up small items that you may need for your boat box, it also provides a great place to arrange to collect bulky items that are difficult to deliver.

The boat jumble was a success in 2023, with individuals and clubs digging out their unused sailing related items and offering them to other members at reasonable prices. Items ranged from small fittings through to complete boats. If you wish to have a table, as a member or as a club please contact me for further information.
