2024 Eastern District Racing Secretary Report

The first half of the year got off with a good start with some decent attendance at regional open meetings, however there is still a reluctance from some clubs to travel, with members happy to sail their home open meetings, but not to travel to other meetings within the district , but overall, the attendance has been good, most active MYA cubs are seeing a slow increase in members, but from the 11 clubs in the region we are only seeing representation from the following 9 clubs at open meetings, but compared with 2023 attendance is up, which I guess is a positive.

We need continue to try to get more engagement from all clubs and encourage participation at these events, it’s a great day of sailing for all abilities, at Huntingdon’s recent DF95 open they had two new skippers joined in and had a great day
