Whitefriars SC club update.

I have just received this short piece from Paul Barton about the recent activity at the club, so thanks for the update, and I hope to see some of you during the year.

WSC update.

Many people stop sailing in the winter. However, we carry on regardless and we have only lost a few days sailing to extreme rain, ice and too much water in the lake.

Our IOM group meetings on a Tuesday, is thriving with 10 or so boats most weeks and their fleet is seeing an influx of more modern boats and racing is often very close but invariably friendly.

Our DF95 fleet is now racing every Friday and numbers are around 10, even in the winter, and while being a great place for novices it is also a place where some members hone their skills before attending the TT series.

Our Monday sailing consists of a wide variety of boats and is well attended with scale and more modern designs.

Our 35-year-old safety boat has finally been replaced by a new and much better boat partly funded by a very generous grant from the MD committee.

If you are interested in sailing with us please contact us via the contact form on our webpage.

Paul Barton.
