Safety upgrade to Lincoln RSC jetties.
Last week the midland committee met at lunchtime during the break from racing at Bournville RS&MBC to discuss the application from Lincoln RSC for a grant to upgrade their jetties with non-slip strips. With the club hosting a lot of MYA events this year and possibly next it was decided that this was a sensible thing to support on the grounds of safety, and so a grant of 50% for the cost was approved with the club covering the rest and doing the work themselves.
Below is a paragraph from Lincoln’s latest e-news letter along with a couple of pictures of the work being undertaken this week.
State of play at the lake
Work continues and we are trailing some non-slip strips on a couple of jetty’s, we are pleased to announce that the MYA ( I think our Midland district ) have awarded us some funds to try and make the jetty’s a bit safer, with the recent rain the grass is getting greener, but we need a lot more to replenish our levels, and this could take some time. We will need to do a fair bit of work on the shrubs , on the banks end of October , and for this we may well need your help for a couple of hours.
