Northern District Winter Series Round 2 (delayed) at Askern – 14/2/26
A sunny morning for a change as 12 skippers out of 16 entrants arrived.
The wind was lightish as forecast but a good direction for the lake. A course was set in a “W” shape giving two decent beats although the furthest buoy No4 gave some problems at times. The morning session consisted of 8 races dominated mostly by Tim Hand with Roger Crates close on his heels.
After lunch the wind decided not to play the game and swung round and became more variable. The course was reversed and worked reasonably well but it was slow going and still dominated by Tim Hand and Roger Crates. After 4 races with a dying wind racing was finished for the day.
The final scores gave Tim Hand as the winner, closely followed by roger Crates and Simon Fairman in third.
Thanks to all attendees and displaying for the most part, fair sailing.
