MYA Vice Chairman

This announcement is to advise that Peter Sutton has decided to resign from the position of MYA Vice Chairman with immediate effect.

Earlier this year I, as Chairman of the MYA, indicated to Peter that I would probably undertake a three year term of office (if elected for the third year) with a plan to stand down at the AGM in 2015.

It has been practice for the Vice Chairman to follow on from the Chairman on these occasions.
Peter made it clear at that time that he did not wish to take on the Chairman role. As such he had planned to stand down at the AGM this year. However for personal reasons Peter has taken the decision to stand down now. It is hoped that a new Vice Chairman will be in place before the AGM this year

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Peter for all he has done in the 18 months he has been in the position. He has chaired several working groups reaching final conclusions and he has given me and Council wise words and sensible opinions.
However I respect Peter’s decision and wish him well for the future.

I will discuss the issue of finding a new Vice Chairman at our full Council meeting on the 7th June and a further announcement will be made after then
