Andrew Peter has asked for help in finding information about the above firm.  In his own words:

“I am researching the history of J.A. Alexander & Sons of Preston, those once famous designers/builders/racers of model yachts in the 1930’s, 40’s and  50’s.
Perhaps unique in that they built and competitively raced serious A Class yachts, and also produced  ‘toy boats’, model yachts and even motor boats, during their long history.
I have been tasked to produce a definitive ‘ Alex’  history by the Vintage Model Yacht Group for publication in their  ‘ Turning Pole ‘  magazine.  http://www.vmyg.org.uk/
