Good Luck to the UK DF95 Global Championship Team

The Model Yachting Association sends its very best wishes to the UK sailors heading to South Africa for the 2026 DF95 Global Championship.

A strong seven-boat UK contingent will be competing:

  • Paul Robson (97), UK National Champion
  • David Adams (65)
  • Mike Weston (11)
  • John Tushingham (51)
  • Jim La Roche (57)
  • Paul Middleton (06)
  • Craig Richards (112), 2024 DF95 Global Champion

The championship will be hosted by Cape Radio Yacht Club, in conjunction with Theewater Sports Club, at Theewaterskloof Dam, and will run from Friday 16 October to Friday 23 October 2026.

The UK will also be represented on the race management team, with Wayne Stobbs taking on the important role of Principal Race Officer (PRO) for the championship. Wayne has considerable experience running DF events in the UK, so the competitors will be in good hands. We are sure he will provide excellent race management and courses worthy of a Global Championship.

With the reigning Global Champion and UK National Champion among the British entries, as well as UK representation leading the race management team, there will be plenty for the UK radio sailing community to follow as the championship unfolds.

Fair winds and the very best of luck to Paul, David, Mike, John, Jim, Paul and Craig. We hope you have a fantastic championship and fly the flag proudly for UK radio sailing. And our best wishes to Wayne for a successful week at the helm of the race team.
