DF65 & DF95 at Manor Park RSC Sunday Results.

Twenty-four sailors came to the start line under overcast grey skies and a predominantly light but gusty Southerly wind. Temperatures were around 18 c and apart from the drizzle, provided a pleasant sailing morning. The drizzle stopped around 11.30 am leaving just the grey skies! The wind varied quite suddenly in both direction and strength during the day making for challenging sailing conditions.

The first, three lap race, started shortly after 9.45am. Derek Priestley gained an early lead scoring three wins in the first four races! It took until race 7 before John Tushingham mastered the conditions to gain his first win. However, after that he gained another seven bullets with a dominant performance.

He was chased home by Derek, Buzz Coleman, Mike Kemp and Dave Burke who shared several first and second places between them. In total 17 races were held until the finish time of 4pm with the early morning drizzle returning.
