At the 2008 AGM, the Technical Secretary again introduced to the meeting the criteria of the Chris Dicks Award for the best design of a Footy yacht and this year again meeting the need for an innovative design for simple construction, easy to build, of good shape, and with a well thought out rig, and good sailing characteristics. The outstanding example of the 35 designs submitted in 2009, all of recycled materials, was the MISTRALETTE design by Trevor Thomas and to whom the trophy was presented by the Technical Secretary, Roger Stollery.
