A good workout for the 10R skippers at the 2016 MYA National Championships

A light to moderate gusty SW wind meant A rigs were used for day 1 of this years 10 rater class nationals being held on the open water venue at Datchet.
With the first World Championship in over 20 years less than 3 weeks away, this reduced, but competitive fleet got in over 17 long course races and as expected things were tight at the top.
Defending champion Brad Gibson had the better of the conditions early on posting a string of wins with his revised Trance design but did not have things all his own way with Graham Bantock, Dave Andrews and Hugh McAdoo all posting top scores throughout the day with their immaculately prepared Diamonds.

Day 2 sees light winds from the South predicted and GB looking to peg back Gibson’s slender lead and take bragging rights with him to Italy’s lake Garda. Andrews and McAdoo are locked on points for 3rd and 4th with a group of skippers not too far behind.
