Changes to Sailing instructions and HMS 2022 and info on the build of the 2026 MYA Racing Calendar

If you are using versions of the MYA sailing instructions or HMS 2022 that you previously downloaded onto your computer, please stop using them and download the latest copy as they have just been updated. The 2024-27 racing rules changes mean a few of our MYA document references to Racing Rules of Sailing rules are out of date and in one case point to a rule that does not exist any more. It is good practice to always to obtain the latest copy on the MYA web site. https://www.mya-uk.org.uk/kb/mya-heat-management-system-hms-current/

MYA Racing Calendar

I am building out the MYA racing calendar for 2026, so as you finalise the dates for your clubs events, please email them to me and I will put your event in the calendar. All I need is the Club name, event name, class, event type, organiser and date.

You can see the events already posted for next year in the MYA Racing Calendar by clicking the next year button. https://www.mya-uk.org.uk/events/

Potential new clubs for holding ranking events

If any clubs think their venues are suitable for ranking events for 10r, IOM or Marblehead or any other class for that matter, please get in touch with me because we are looking to expand on those venues currently used. I appreciate weed and water levels are an issue in the middle of the year but we are able to work around those by planning events early or late in the year. If you are worried whether your members have the expertise to run an event, help can be provided.

I hope the summer sailing is going well wherever you are and look forward to meeting up at the MYA AGM and boat jumble at the end of the year.
