6M Open EDCS 2 – Report and Results

Whitlingham 6m Eastern District Open 19-09-26

7 skippers arrived including 2 visitors, to be met with fairly strong SW with gusts double the relatively steady state. Sadly, due to rig failure only 6 started race 1.

With a mix of rigs and several skippers struggling to get the setup right for the conditions, racing was close throughout the day, 16 races were completed 2 laps in a triangular course with a wide gate to start, as the races continued a swing in the wind direction required a change to a narrower gate, which eventually changed to a rounding of the bottom mark( all starboard) due to wind direction.

Luckily weed was significantly absent. Racing was close with Duncan and John getting many first places, strongly chased by Robert, Vinnie and Tony who were battling it out and with Stuart really struggling to get his boat going as he wanted, stopped racing early.

Duncan took the day winning with 17 pts, with John taking 2nd with 21 pts and 3rd visitor Robert with 37 pts.
