2025 RG65 MDCS Bournville RS&MBC race report.

A select group of seven skippers took part in the event which, due to light airs, proved quite challenging. A total of 14 races were completed, with results being very close between the top two, right up until the end of the racing. Evidently, choosing a high aspect A rig for the day was the right thing to do.

In the end it was Tobias Laux who took 1st place, closely followed by Dorian Crease and then Mark Dicks. Had it not been for the loss of two races due to an electrics problem, Mark would have been closely in contention for 2nd.

However, as this is a Midland District event, the 2025 MD Champion is Dorian Crease: many congratulations Dorian!

Throughout the whole day, there were no contacts and no penalty turns; all down to some skilful sailing at close quarters at the marks.

A sandwich lunch was provided by the club at 12.45, and there was time for a warmup in the clubhouse after a somewhat chilly autumn morning.

Thanks go to the race team who were Ian Green, Phil Griffin and John Humphries. Their contribution was greatly appreciated by the RO who relied upon them.
