2025 MD6MCS R2 Bournville RS&MBC results.

On arrival, the 10 entrants were greeted by a fresh, gusty WNW wind blowing primarily down the length of the pool. Race Officer, Peter Court, set a typical 2 lap course of a port rounding windward mark with adjacent wing mark and run down to a gate set just to leeward of the start line.  Almost from the word go, the wind was tending to veer to the NW as forecast which increasingly brought the large group of trees on the opposite bank into play causing dramatic large wind shifts, gusts and dead spots.

It became a day of attrition with equipment malfunction, breakages, entanglements and sailor fatigue gradually reducing the fleet. The racing was dominated by a close-fought battle between Mark Dicks (Roccoco) and Chris Harris (Shadow). After the completion of 16, 2-lap races, Mark came out on top with 9 wins (17pts), followed by Chis with 6 wins (20pts), John Burgoine (Shadow) with 1-win (45pts) just edging out an ever-improving Simon Richardson (Ravenna) 46pts. All in all, a challenging action-packed day.
