2024 MYA Scottish District IOM Championship Series – overall results

Congratulations to Brian “Tich” Summers who is the 2024 MYA Scottish District IOM Series Champion.

The series comprises four events – three Travellers events and the MYA Scottish District Championship event. Three out of the four events contribute to the overall score. Congratulations are also due to Ian Dundas who was 2nd and Richard Rowan who was 3rd.

It was clear throughout these events that the standard of sailing in the Scottish District IOM fleet has taken another step forward. At the same time, both the numbers of skippers and also less experienced skippers has increased. Of further note, the mix of home built 3D printed hulls and wooden hulls are frequently beating high standard, professionally built hulls.

Finally, many participants (skippers and race team members) have reported how much fun the IOM fleet events provide with lots of encouragement and help given if there are equipment failures or advice needed. Well done to all the volunteer race teams, the members helping with hospitality and all the skippers who have turned-up and made the events so successful.
