Irvine Beach Park Pond, 0915, Saturday 12th March, 2016. The fleet has gathered. Skippers chatting, considering the opposition, weighing up their chances. Final tweaking of their boats. Some on the water trying to read the wind shifts and gain pond experience prior to the off. Tension in the air.It is the first of the three MYA, Scottish District, IOM Travellers Trophy Events, this one hosted by Ayr Bay Radio Yacht Club at their sailing venue at Irvine. The morning is overcast with a good wind directly from the South suggesting that the number two rig is a likely requirement.
