At the 2011 AGM, the Technical Secretary again introduced to the meeting the criteria of the Chris Dicks Award for the best design of a Footy yacht meeting the need for an innovative design for simple construction, easy to build, of good shape, and with a well thought out rig and good sailing characteristics. This year, although only two eligible designs were submitted, the quality of entry was extremely high with both boats scoring highly, and the final award going to Peter Henderson’s ‘1299’. The award was presented to Peter by the MYA’s Technical Officer, Roger Stollery.
