At the 2005 AGM, the President announced that in recognition of his outstanding efforts in both the production of the new MYA Handbook and the continuing high standard of the MYA website, the Syan Award would this year be presented to Damian Ackroyd.

The decision of the judges was greeted with acclaim by the members present, and Damian received the award and made a short acceptance speech.
