Hi everyone. Has anyone used this receiver? I have had problems with some Spektrum receivers dropping out at the furthest mark. I use a DX9 TX.

Not sure that receiver will work with a DX9 as I think it is for the surface transmitters.

I too use a DX9 and yes I did have the same problem as you until I placed the receiver just under the hatch lid.

I have seen people mount a receiver under a deck patch if on a carbon boat.

I use a DX9. Good piece of kit. I have tried different receivers in my RG65 boat, which is carbon. With Parkflyer receivers with antennas I had a dropout problem since then I went to the AR410 and AR620. I have never had a problem with these in any boat I sailed they are a great piece of kit. Like Steve says I have the antenna near the top of the pot in my carbon Boats. 
If you find you are still having problems with range, it’s always worth popping it in for a service

I’ve had a couple of TXs not working at full power due to faulty (damp) transmitter modules. They didn’t pass the range check test.

Guys, thanks for your comments. I have been used to using a Futaba 6K which is very reliable but I fancied using the DX9 in two 'flight' modes The first would be normal operation the second would be the same except the sheets would be let out by about 2cm when the left stick is fully down. I notice that at the Worlds the sheets are eased slightly when going from tack to tack momentarily. I wish I had the skill to do that = I thought I could have a switch to do it for me. Please don't flame me! I am sure several of you will be horrified!

On a Futaba 3vcs I use idle up on the throttle when in the sheeted in position, using a 3 position switch this gives me

High mode: Pointing closer to the wind but going slower, (sheet in 5%)

VMG mode: The best VMG for your boat

Fast mode: Pointing less into the wind but going faster, (sheet out 5-10%) This also helps when wind is at the top of the range for a rig.

The 3VCS was a specialised car Tx so not sure if aircraft idle up can be made to work the same.

There are several methods of achieving a 'mode' function switch.  The most generally applicable is to use a spare channel with a three position switch and then mix about 5% of this channel into the throttle (winch) channel.  This will give 95/100/105% winch travel.  Some Txs (like my Radiomaster) have dedicated buttons for modes - basically you set different trims for each mode button.

For tacking it's probably better to use the stick directly as it's quicker and saves fumbling for switches.

"Furthest mark" is of course subjective, but I use a DX6i on both my yachts, with a AR410 in my DF95. (Up high, towards the deck of course). Not had problems.
