October 16, 20241 yr Hi I’ve seen this somewhere, but can I find it? Sailing my DF95 in a gravel pit the ballast comes in for a bit of hammer when coming ashore. Does anyone have any tips for getting it back into pristine condition - within class rules? David
October 17, 20241 yr Author For clarity, I’m really asking what sort of paint would you use and would a metal primer be required (once you’ve waded out to it)?
October 17, 20241 yr Rub bac k with 320 grade w/d Normal car plastic padding type paste in all dints and dents. Rub back and go don through grades of w/d paper to get desired finish Spray a coat or two of primer Rub back Spray with cheap car spray paint. Leave for 2 days then polish Note !! Check weight before and after process to make sure no rules are broken. Buy wellies !!
October 17, 20241 yr Author Sounds good. There does not seem to be any need for a specialist paint, so it’s an easy fix. We now launch and recover from a floating pontoon so, once the bulb is restored, it will never touch bottom again. ‘Bye wellies!!
