Neil Webb Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 I've just purchased the SW22HV and programmer. Eventually got the software to work but all I get is ERROR when I try to read or write to the servo. Mine is currently 1.5 turns and can crank up to 2.25 using end point adjustments. Need it to be 3.5 with the 30mm wheel. Any help...... please PS the helpful response I had from component shop was a link to same as in thus thread not from their site and it doesn't work on anything above windows 10. I've tried on windows 10 and 8 same happens. I think programmer is dodgy...thoughts?
LaurieB Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Morning Neil I bought the 61g winch from the Component shop about 3 years ago to replace the winch in my Tonic (the boat I was sailing Thursday) and had a similar problem. I don't recall at the time them saying that I needed to buy a separate digital programmer. I ended up just fitting a slightly larger drum and set the end points to max and managed to get enough travel that way. I'm pretty sure Tony B bought one for his Gadget a bit after me, might be worth having a word with him on Thursday see if he had the same issue and how he got round it. Alternatively have a chat with the Component shop as I notice they now say on their website for the 61g winch:- 'As default the sail winches are now supplied pre-programmed to 6 turns (assuming standard 1ms - 2ms transmitter pulse) we can supply them programmed to whatever you need but you must contact us before making the purchase to let us know, otherwise the standard 6 turn sail winch will be shipped. We previously shipped the sail winches as they were received from the factory, which sometimes were set to around 2 turns. If you need one of these earlier supplied units to be reprogrammed, we are happy to do this, just get in touch with us for more details' Cheers Laurie
John949 Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 First thing to check is the driver. If you go to Device Manager, under USB Controllers you should see USBXpress Device (with the card connected). Open this and select the driver tab. The one that works for me is signed by Silicon Labs Software, dated 14/07/2010 and version 3.3.0.0. If this is working the LED should go green when you plug in the card. Start Dsconfig V2.1, press reflash USB, then read config. LED should stay green throughout.

Yes ive been through all this exactly as you have put, mine goes red and logs an error message at the read stage and goes red. I've tried a desktop Windows 10, laptop windows 10, tablet running windows 8 same thing happens on all. I've even tried different leads to no avail. Think either the servo or programmer not working as they should. I'm returning both to component shop and asking them to set it to 4 turns, replace as necessary.

I purchased the additional programmer to be able to set it wherever I needed. Unfortunately this is where the problems now lie.
