At the 2004 AGM, the MYA President, Derek Priestley reported that all five of the nominations for the Syan Award were worthy, but the committee had decided that for his continuing energetic work in publicising the Association and his work for the Gosport Club, the award should go to Robert Hobbs.
Robert gave his thanks for the award and indicated that it was an award to the MYA publicity team and to the Gosport club.
