I am interested to know whether there is a particular requirement for the amount and location of wood for an IOM to be raced in a 'woodie' event. I have a number of variations in my small fleet. E. G. Wooden hull and foredeck with epoxy glass aft deck and epoxy glass hull with wood fore and aft decks.

To the best of my understanding, there is no formal definition. However, I would suggest that the minimum requirement in this category is the presence of a wooden hull. Many "Woodies" feature either fibreglass or wooden decks.
