V6 or similar hatch lid

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a source for these lids . They seem a bit expensive to get from Vickers web site plus probably a bit of a wait . My boat is a D6 and uses the same as the Vickers. Now problem solved

John,

If like myself you indulge in a bit of cooking Indian cuisine, the lids from butter Ghee fit.

In Australia I think the cooks that sail V boats use container lids from NZ Mussels which are readily available in our supermarket .... maybe the same lids 😀

Yes we do use Ghee and tried one Gordon and it’s too big .The lids need to clip onto a 95mm diameter lip for the D6.

I got a 100mm lid from Vintage Food Cans on Etsy but I can't find a 95mm one. I searched for food can lids and pot lids and found some 95mm but they were for coffee cups and the like. Vickers could have had some specially made?

Hi John

I bought a new Vickers plastic hatch from Austin on this forum last summer, have not used it and it is now surplus to my current requirements.PXL_20250919_150251665.jpg

Seems to be identical to the photos in Vickers Aussie online shop. PM me if you are still looking for one

I’ve now modified the boat to use a more common lid so all sorted now thanks to everyone for their help
