at weekend - had the main sheet, the section of sheet between block and post,  trap in the pulley block a few times  - see picture.
any solutions?

When  happening it is  not obvious at first and puts loads onto the winch,

 

has this happened to anyone else??
 

(ps don't ask what boat and where as was suffering badly with summer flu and not in best form)

Try a couple of turns of string to fill in the gap. Maybe a thin plastic washer?

Put a small triangle/ half circle of deck patch over the front of the pulley to allow the sheet to ride over the top.
