What do people use to lift their heavier boats out of the water.  I don't want to use a lifting eye so was thinking of a cradle to go under the hull with a handle to one side.  Suggestions gratefully received as my knees are wearing out!

There are a few that use cradles, seem to be where they have a wet Launch, the difficulty I have found is that on a windy day they can be difficult to keep in the cradle, I would suggest you get a lifting eye sorted, come up from the lead if necessary through the hatch to an eye use different  length  hooks depending on water level
