Today I received notification about this year’s association AGM in November. Traditionally, the Trade Show is usually included with the AGM.

I can only assume there doesn’t appear to be any appetite to host a Trade Show this year, because there was no additional information included. When a supplier pays for an article to appear within the year book, isn’t part of that fee to secure a stand within the Trade Show itself?

I would be interested to read opinions from others on this subject, or the reasoning for perhaps not having a Trade Show? Personally, I think we as an association should have these important events.

John, have you confirmed with MYA Council that there will definitely not be a trade show?

Hi John, Council will be notifying everyone about the Trade Show as soon as possible. For now its just notification of the AGM. Council are obliged to give AGM notice  no less than 120 days before it takes place.

I LOVE the trade show!  it's an ideal opportunity for impulse purchases, and chat to old friends we haven't seen for years!!  I think it could be combined with a "boat jumble/bring & buy" of Model Yachting bits!!

I sent our DCO an early version of the notice of AGM, not the correct one! Date and venue are OK but the correct version has more information. I understand that we have more space at this years venue and would hope that we can make the pre AGM show bigger and better than ever.

New notice of AGM should be on the website shortly.

I’d like to thank the council for the amendment to the AGM notification and the inclusion of the Trade Show. It is an event worth coming to. I hope members of the MYA will come and support in November.
