  2. Robert, look for https://www.iomworlds2026.com and take it from there!
  3. The website I was directed to was NBC Sports. Looks like someone decided to monetise coverage. They need a credit card to validate which country you are from as NBC are not permitted (by who?) to stream everywhere, apparently. The blurb says you wont be charged for access. Not going to provide my credit card details and disappointed that coverage is evidently going to be geographically restricted to some extent.

  6. I read a short while ago on the MYA Downwind FB page that the intention now was not to live stream but to show a recording of each race as soon as possible after it was finished. 4 fleets I believe so as the first race started at 10am then you would think that all 4 heats would have been sailed by now but no video yet. Maybe they're all in the protest tent after heat 2 ? !!
  7. Hi Peter, Further to our telecon today, please can you email me (nigelD31@gmail.com), your email address so I can transfer information directly to you. Thanks, Nige
  8. If you click on the link in the channel description you get taken to a proprietary link which requires login and needs your credit card for 'validation'. Not handing my credit card details to some random website. Not impressed. Always thought that the Gladstone Worlds coverage would take some beating and Datchet seem to have failed from the get go for me. Perhaps someone can explain?
  9. Nothing 'live' yet! If you got onto Facebook and search for IOM World Championship 2026 you will get about 2 minutes of recorded 'testing' before the boats are called off the water prior to the first seeding race starting at 10am. Nothing 'live' after that so far and the YouTube channel currently shows 'No Content'. I had heard that there might be a 'highlights' show later in the day at some point rather than live video but your guess is as good as mine!
  10. What am I missing? No videos, something is trying to get me to sign up for a vpn. Is it me?

  19. Yes - I removed the sail and measured the current bend 15mm to centre line of the mast, does look to be all in the last 150mm top of the mast. Luckly I also have another A-Rig on my other boat, same sail maker and the sail maker is also from our club so will check with him. Many thanks for replying
  20. Trevor replied to Craig Olley's topic in IOM
Surely the prebend is removed by putting tension on the back stay. If it still doesn’t match the luff curve of the sail then it’s the position of the prebend rather than the amount. The sailmaker should be able to tell you where to put it.

If you search for “Bow Bumper” on the Sailsetc website there are detailed recommendations on what to use and how to do it. https://www.sailsetc2.com/index.php/bow-bumper.html

I have recently bought another IOM with 2 A rigs but the one with a new sail on does not set correctly (from the previous owner) due to too much prebend. We are going to correct this on Wednesday what amount of prebend? The mast is a normal 11mm dia black mast, Graphite sails sail on a Vision IOM.
  30. ALTERNATIVE IOM 4735, with Certificate, competitive boat wining several club race series. Designed by Brad Gibson. Moulded hull painted with the excellent Epifanes two part paint. David Creed fin, ballast and rudder. A rig with Sailboat RC sails, B and C rigs with PJ sails, PJ sail winch. PSN will be removed. Spare deck patches and templates. Radio, receiver and stand NOT included. Based in Dorset, but will discuss possible delivery arrangements. £1300
  31. Note that the term 'full & by' was dropped from the RRS many many years ago - replaced by 'close hauled course' Oops, showing my age. Still I do know that the "overtaking boat keeps clear" rule was dropped equally long ago (unlike a lot of people it seems). It is one of the (many) difficulties of Radio Sailing that judging "proper course" when sailing perpendicular to the observer is not easy. My understanding is that if you get overlapped to leeward you are required to keep clear and protest afterwards (if you believe the leeward boat is sailing above her proper course) - not ignore the leeward boat and watch the boats raft up.
  32. Thanks Derek. I did find this on YouTude, which is a help https://youtu.be/tGsTGVfTSSA?si=xdiur-Y0T60bBdB-
  33. I already told Norman it's a KLUG, made in Germany in the 1970's They also made a Marblehead (Gibli) and a 10r but I can't remember the name. Nice to see that you' ve got it together.
  34. Hi RoRo, I suggest you look in the WS Case Book and share with your fellow sailors. Look at cases 15 and especially Case 27 for applying R 13. Case 27 is exactly the described issue. Rule 13, While Tacking CASE 15 In tacking to round a mark, a boat clear ahead must comply with rule 13; a boat clear astern is entitled to hold her course and thereby prevent the other from tacking. CASE 27 A boat is not required to anticipate that another boat will break a rule. When a boat acquires right of way as a result of her own actions, the other boat is entitled to room to keep clear. Also for R 15 see Case 81 however that is a marks to stbd scenario. CASE 81 When a boat entitled to mark-room under rule 18.2(a)(2) passes head to wind, rule 18.2(a)(2) ceases to apply and she must comply with the applicable rule of Section A. John
