I am trying to get this old lady on the water for the nationals. Am I missing a bit with the swing rig when it goes in to the boat as it seems to have far too much play.

The other issue I have to work out is the sheeting. It looks like the rigs were used for a 10r as well any one who has a paradox any help / photos would be appreciated.

The gizmo sheeting is witchcraft, and far easier to explain on the water side than on a piece of paper🤣

The above doesn't fully explain it but might give you some clues. Your call but I'm not a fan of the gizmo. Unless you understand what it does and definitely want those properties then it might be simpler to remove it and stick to conventional sheeting, at least until you get some experience with the boat.

Re the sheeting i assume apart from the swing rig you want to get the boom and the take off from the hull as close as poss so you are pulling laterally and not down. It seems on all of the rigs the boom band is so far aft of the deck point and so much higher it is completely in efficient. I have worked out with the swing and the gizmo you need the last bit to be down to make the gizmo work. Will scratch head again when all the bits turn up.

When using a swing rig you need to use the bridle rather than the post. You can see the bridle on my Paradox as a white ring laying on top of the battery hatch, height is adjustable by the bowsies on the lines going to edge of the boat.

Thanks John. Do you have a post as well? I have the same set up as you. The bridle.makes sense as we use that on a lot of boats. The q was the sheeting point on the main boom seems so far back l.e Not in line any where near where I could get the bridle to. They are on adjustable fittings but will only go so far as the main boom gets thicker so looks like they were never intended to be there.
