July 31, 2025Jul 31 Hi We have just been told by our bank (Santander) that our free banking will end soon. We have a ‘club treasurers’ account. We are wondering if other clubs have free banking and if so which bank? The alternative is to be a charity. Are any MYA clubs registered charities? Thanks Don treasurer Market Bosworth RYC
July 31, 2025Jul 31 Hi, I am treasurer for a Model Flying Club and the account is with TSB, and it is currently free. However ....... I understand that Santander is taking over TSB so I might suffer the same fate.
August 1, 2025Aug 1 Hi - We have a “Charitable” bank account with HSBC, although we are not a charity, and they introduced a £5 monthly fee about two years ago but they have withdrawn this as of July, although there are still transaction fees for things like paying in cheques and cash.
