2022 Nationals - Are you going?

Featured Replies

Only a few weeks to go now until the 2022 Nationals at Datchet and the fleet is slowly building. With the current increased costs of living, travel and accommodation I suspect that we wont be quite at the pre pandemic numbers but it will still be a great weekend with the chance to stretch the legs of your Marblehead at one of the best venues in the UK and pit yourself against some of the best M skippers in the World.

See the entry details below and the current list of entrants.

2022 M Nationals.

Dear Darin,

Many thanks for chasing, but there is no need as I entered on 1 Juneย  online in the normal way and got this response from Hugh McAdoo on the same day.

"Dear Roger,

Many thanks for your entryย

Best Regardsย

Hugh"

So, something must have gone wrong with the system in my entry not being added to those already listed. I am not sure how entries get on the list, but I imagine that this happens automatically with Austin's system. Rest assured I will be there and am very much looking forward the sailing and meeting you all again.

Very best wishes, Roger

Final results after two days of great racing in the M Class.

Congratulations to the podium of Brad Gibson, Pete Stollery and Graham Bantock. Three different designs in the top three showing the strength of the class.

Well done to all the competitors and thanks to all the helpers and race team.

Next date for your diary is 10/11th Sept at Keighley.

Thanks Darin for rounding up the Marblehead fleet for a very enjoyable weekend.

On a personal level. Sailing the digitally printed Peroni performed better than expected over the weekend. I think both the boat and myself suffered on the Saturday in the waves but fared much better on the Sunday in flatter water. You should see a revised design from John Taylor that I'll print in a slightly different way to get the weight closer to the rest of the fleet. So please don't think of her as the finished article, far from it. But sailing her at the Nationals and at Manor Park the month earlier against top boats and skippers, has certainly aided her development.ย

As Darin says, see you all at Keighley.
BIG PS - we at Keighley have new concrete steps and a metal handrail all the way down to the landing stage - no more walking the cobbles. ๐Ÿ˜€
Thank you to the MYA for helping to part fund through district funds.

Thanks to the Datchet team for hosting the event and to echo Damianโ€™s message, a big thanks to Darin for reminding us all that promotion (and plenty of it) is the biggest factor in driving successful events and classes.

Excellent to know we have you looking after us going forward in sorting an events calendar and promotion the class deserves and needs to remain strong. Thank You๐Ÿ‘
