DF 95 Lee helm on B,C,D rigs.
I don't think you ever will be able to reduce the lee helm in lulls, in my experience I have the same with A,B and C rig in the IOM in varying degrees. Keep your eyes peeled to figure out the direction that the next gust and pressure will come from and always be on the tack that is taking you towards it in the lull. With such a range of windspeed in gusty conditions try to figure out if the gusts or the lulls are longer, and adjust your rig set up for that. Works for me most of the time. ;)

More on supplier's
I was thinking circa £675, it's difficult to price but that is under half of what it cost me in 2017. 4 rigs A1 A2 B and C. Foils were by Robot I believe. Fitted with an analog servo (low power consumption in idle) lever arm. Savox digital rudder servo. Sails by Catsails. Contact by WhatsApp on 07548 875663 if interested to avoid cluttering up on here

If you are looking for a Scurry and willing to consider a pre-owned boat, I may consider parting with mine, built by Alex Cory in 2017, little used. Located on the South Coast at Eastbourne.

Kantwo Mast Rake
I have a JG shroud tension meter, on single strand wire I sail with between 20 - 24. I don't bother with what actual tension this is in Kgs or whatever, but use the number as my guide. I use Catsails on a PG mast with 55mm spreaders - hull is Sedici. I find those settings necessary to keep the mast in column for setting the main up to operate as I want downwind in approx 7-10knots of breeze. I don't adjust the shrouds once set, just change fore and aft rig tension to suit conditions and achieve the desired mast rake. If you are unable to obtain an accurate measurement for bumper to masthead (or wherever - jib hoist is the favourite), for an A rig I have found 1 degree rake aft to be a good starting point.

Clem Vane
Thanks Derek, Nigel now has "Bobcat" so maybe I need to have a chat to see if he already has a vane for the boat. As you know we have two bridges on the perimeter of Princes Park lake which used to have wooden platforms at the same level as the lower paved level but these have long gone. I suppose without them we can't entertain hosting an event? Would some sort of floating pontoon be acceptable? On a personal level, I would like to see vane yachts back at the club just to retain the historical links. Unfortunately, as we don't presently free sail on the lake, any request to the cash strapped local authority to restore the platforms would not be well received. In the mean time I will monitor the for sale posts for something suitable, is there a source anywhere of 36R or R36R designs? Jes

Thought I'd share these beauties, passed to me by a since departed member at Eastbourne. I was advised one is a break back, the other a moving carriage type. To me the break back appears similar in principle to the Clem. Dummy question - are these too big for a V36? I'm unlikely to smuggle an A or 10R into my premises without crticism, but might get away with a 36R.

Electric Outboards
At EDMYC we currently use an electric trolling motor powered by a 80 ah 12v lead acid battery to power an inflatable 2.6m dinghy. Are any clubs using the new generation of electric outboards with integrated li ion/li fe batteries? We are currently researching the Thrustme range and possibly the Torqueedo as options and would be interested in people’s experiences.
