  1. Try searching ‘voice sail start timer’ in the App Store.
  2. According to an online manual: hope it’s useful Stall / Fault mode The SmartWinch can detect when there is a fault and can protect itself by shutting down. When in stall mode the stall signal will sound at 2-second intervals. This can usually be reset by moving the Tx stick in the opposite direction. If this does not work, turn the winch off and on again. But check for the reason it stalled and resolve it before restarting. Please note that there are several reasons why stall protection may not prevent damage due to overload. These include cyclic overloading where the winch does not come to a complete stall before the commanded position is reached then run back causes the cycle to repeat, inadequate current supply resulting in the winch controller having a “brown out” causing a restart etc. Several factors can result in overheating that stall protection cannot prevent.
  3. 2 notes (high/low) stall signal during normal operation indicates stall or fault.
  4. Yes Eric, the jib connection was installed by the builder.
  5. Hi Roger, I have an early Spanish britpop and recall that it was delivered minus the pot. I fitted a sailsetc pot which has a screw lid. Therefore, I imagine whoever owned your boat from new, decided the type of pot used.
  6. Simon, if you visit the SAILSetc website and pick Downloadable documents from the list on the left and on the next page pick RG1 under ‘rigging’. This should give you a lot of info regarding Dynema etc. Many thanks to Mr Bantok.
  7. Popping my head above the wall, I’d suggest you talk to the boat builder or designer for rig setting details. I imagine most of the current top skippers rely on the base measurements supplied by the builder as a starting point. Hope that is helpful.
  8. Hi, hopefully this link will take you to AA parts. I think this is what you need. https://www.aa-parts.com/en/attrezzatura-di-coperta/accessori-alberi/piedi-d-albero/piede-d-albero-o-12-7-mm.html
  9. Think I’ll leave it to the experts in future:)
  10. Hi Nigel, My initial thought is this could be a Triple Crown. I believe it was designed by Mark Dicks and the line plans were available via the MYA. Looks similar in lines to my driest yacht (below).

Hi, I’m no expert but the class rule below might answer your question. C.7.4 MAST (a) DIMENSIONS minimum maximum Lower point to deck limit mark as defined in D.1.5 ....................................... 60 mm ... 100 mm Within these limits, the variation in height of lower point for each rig .......................................... ..... ± 5 mm
  12. Hi Terry, I have a BritPop IOM built by VinaiXa yachts in Spain and it came with a magnetic switch as an optional extra. The switch is mounted under the deck so nothing to see above and is triggered with a magnet. It works really well and means that you can turn off without opening the pot lid. I always thought that if it failed, I would simply stop using it, but so far (3 years on) touch wood, it's fine. Maybe an email to Pepe at VinaiXa would confirm what supplier they use. Hope that helps. Peter
