Morning we’re looking to send a boat & rigs to Denmark! Any suggestions on carriers ? DHL our initial thought don’t appear happy with mast length’s !!!!

Ive used DHL Express (DHL have different services so Express is not normal DHL Freight) multiple times including recently moving an IOM (boxed seperately) and sailbox (standard 3 rigs box) from FRA to AUS and they had no problems but it did get delayed as the sailbox was listed as oversized.

I would find a freight forwarder (agent) who specialises in moving small (not size) consignments and get options for the move ..... I found my agent got much better prices than I could find going direct even via postage.

One thing is that it will cost a few ££££ as although it may be <20kg its the cubic weight (due to it being big but light) used for freight that makes it expensive ...... my freight cost door to door cost was more than the boat.

Thanks guy’s I think “wobbles” latter words say it all the cost of transportation is far more than the boats value! We thought initially a relative would pick it up & could sort delivery, delivery costs to & from the Isle of Wight can be amusing! The idea of cuttIng the masts down to metre initially made me twitch, it shouldn’t I normally sail / build Marblehead’s joining Carbon sections an every day occurrence.

Anyway thanks Guys We’ll see how it goes.
